Personally, I’m all for it, especially this time of year and if it’s to Mackinaw. But Judge Albright saw it differently.
This case involved a Texas plaintiff and a defendant from Massachusetts which was seeking a transfer to Michigan where its security division was located. Judge Albright found significant the difference in time to trial, with WDMI being 31 months and Waco patent cases 11 months faster. As he did a few days earlier, Judge Albright noted the actual time to trial of his recent cases (20-26 months to trial).
